My title is volunteer blogger. When I’m not writing about my visits to state parks, I’m a stay at home mom of a toddler, a dog, and a cat.

I grew up in the Roanoke Valley where I fell in love with the outdoors. After my high school graduation, I lived in a handful of places like Gainesville, FL, Nashville, and the mountains outside of Denver. Eventually, I returned to Virginia, finished school, got married, and started a family.

I rediscovered the outdoors when my daughter was born almost four months early. After she came home from the NICU, the outdoors became our retreat. We started Trail Quest when she was only a few months old and I pushed her in a jogging stroller along trails. Now, thirty months later, we are two parks short of finishing our Trail Quest.
